Wow! What an incredible night at Twilight Tuesday this week! Twilight Tuesday is a venue + vendor open house at On The Levee where new vendors gather each month to create a free event for couples who are getting married! It is a great way for couples to see the space and get to know different wedding vendors that they could potentially use on their big day.
This month, we were so lucky to be the head of design, floral, and rentals for Twilight Tuesday. We worked alongside Nimbus Events for planning, Sarah Blaze for photography, Deon Davis for videography, delicious food by Vestals Catering, Music (& a silent disco!) by Leforce, Nightowl for coffee, Liquid Love for cocktails, Tease to Please for hair + makeup, and Anthony Entertains for some amazing magic!
After meeting with Bianca, we came to the design decision that this event was going to be full of COLOR. It’s not very often that we get to go wild with color, so we wanted to go full out with colorful floral, bold lounges, and a moment of impact that ties it all together. On The Levee has an amazing white space with lots of blank walls, so we knew the design wouldn’t overpower the venue.
Kaley started working on the design board & came up with some of the most amazing ideas! One of my favorite ideas that she had was to have colorful fabric hanging from the ceiling for a moment of impact. She planned the rentals that we would use, found inspiration for the floral, and created a rendering of what she wanted the space to look like.
On the day of the event, we started setup around 9 AM! Luckily, On The Levee is directly across the street from our warehouse, so it made transportation super easy! In case you didn’t know, we waive all of our travel fees for events that are held at On The Levee! It truly is a great space and we love working with them.
We started with the fabric installation because it was going to take the most time. Because the venue had lights strung throughout the ceiling, we decided to change the location of the fabric and have it on their back wall. In doing that, it turned out even better than how we had originally planned! Sometimes things change when you get into the space and start designing, but that’s okay! It’s all part of the fun.
We taped these huge pieces of fabric on copper pipes, then tied string through the pipes to hang it from the ceiling beams. On The Levee had a scaffolding in order for us to hang it! The commitment is real. We had guys up 20 feet in the air to hang these flags, but the end result was SO worth it. Funny story: Our tape started to peel off the fabric mid-day and the fabric slowly started falling to the ground. Yep, sometimes the engineering doesn’t always work out, but we always find a way to make it work! We ended up using staples to hold the fabric around the copper pipe. It worked perfectly & held up for the whole night!
Next, our crew setup all the lounges and our floral team began the floral installation! The floral might have been my favorite part because it was so beautiful and colorful.
Setup lasted the whole day and we finished up the floral installation around 6 PM! The other vendors started arriving and guests began to arrive at 7 PM!
The final product for this event was absolute magic. We could not have been more thrilled with how it turned out!
The event was an absolute blast! We met so many amazing people and danced the night away. Definitely one for the books.
Let us know what you thought of the event + design!
